INTENNSE! Takes Championship in Thrilling Final at Atlanta Athletic Club
July 25- The highly anticipated final match at the Atlanta Athletic Club pitted league-leading favorites, Leave it to Lara!, against the surging comeback team, INTENNSE! The evening kicked off with an entertaining exhibition by the talented Atlanta Athletic Club Teaching Professionals, followed by a warm AAC reception for all players. Go Tennis! co-founder Shaun Boyce delivered a touching rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner, setting the stage for an exciting night of tennis.
Play began with intensity, as Line 1 from both teams delivered an entertaining and skillful display. INTENNSE! quickly secured victories at Line 1 and Mixed Doubles. However, Leave it to Lara! answered back with a win at the Legends line, narrowing the gap.
The championship ultimately came down to Line 2, where Leave it to Lara! mounted a impressive comeback to force a third-set tiebreaker. In a thrilling finish, INTENNSE! emerged victorious, clinching the championship title!
Congratulations to both teams for their exceptional performances throughout the season and in the final match. The INTENNSE! team members celebrated their hard-earned win with a cash bonus, some Wilson swag, and a celebratory bottle of champagne!
July 12 update :The Final stage is set!
After five thrilling weeks of competition, the 2025 season of the Atlanta Pro League has delivered excitement, drama, and top-tier tennis. All five teams remained in contention for a Finals berth heading into the final week, making it one of the most competitive seasons yet.
In Week 4, a lightning delay couldn’t stop Team Leave it to Lara!, who stormed to a dominant 4-0 victory over Atlanta Divorce and Parent, securing their place in the Finals with a league-leading 12 points.
Meanwhile, the clash between Premier Racquet Sports and Team INTENNSE! was pivotal. Both teams entered the week tied at 5 points. INTENNSE! emerged victorious with a 3-1 win, while also drawing level with Go Tennis! at 8 match wins.
With the standings deadlocked, the tiebreaker came down to the fewest sets lost across the season. In an incredibly tight finish, Team INTENNSE! edged ahead by a single set—winning the tiebreaker 18-19—to clinch the second Finals spot.
